May 9th – 17th, 2019

The inspiration behind this trip is flower power! You’ll begin by visiting the world’s largest flower auction in Aalsmeer followed by the world’s largest gardens in Keukenhof. Travel back in time to the 18th century to make chocolate the traditional way in a mouth-watering chocolate workshop. To truly taste Amsterdam, we’ll take you to the birthplace of Heineken where you can take a sip of the spirit of Amsterdam. Enjoy breath-taking views atop the Earth’s best known tower, 906 feet above the city. Be entertained in a must-see cabaret performance at the stunning Moulin Rouge.

What are you waiting for?

Day 1 – Jet lag is for amateurs?

After settling into your room at the hotel, you’ll have a good time exchanging stories and getting to know your fellow travellers better over dinner. You might decide to spend the later part of your evening catching up on a well-deserved nap or exploring the surrounding neighbourhood.

Day 2 – Our tulips should…kiss?

Today, you’ll visit the largest flower auction in the world! Step into the beautiful blooming world early in the morning to experience the hustle and bustle of the global flower trade. More than 21 million flowers are shipped from here – a day! Try and spot what flowers were grown on Kenyan soil  as you learn about the historic flower exchange and get some insights on how technology is shifting trends. In the afternoon, you will visit the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens to see with your own eyes what the largest flower gardens on earth look like. In the evening, you can choose to spend your Friday night in the coolest place in town (quite literally) at Amsterdam’s Icebar.

Day 3 – Anything is good if it’s made of chocolate!

Step back in time and experience what a typical village looked like in the 18th and 19th centuries. Delight your senses in a traditional handmade chocolate making workshop where you’ll learn about the history of chocolate and cocoa. You get to work with cocoa yourself; by winnowing, cracking, tapping, grinding, grating and crushing. And – you can take your handmade chocolate back home. Upgrade from chocaholic to connoisseur! After chocolate production, indulge your palate in tasting different chocolates from around the world. End the day with a guided tour of the infamous Red Light District.

Day 4 – Beauty is in the eye of the BEER holder

The Anne Frank House is a museum with a story like no other. You’ll learn about the secret lives of a Jewish girl and her family who lived in their neighbour’s unknown annexed house for two years during the holocaust period – without ever seeing the outside world! After an emotionally intense morning, your afternoon will transform into a sensationally interactive tour at the Heineken Experience in the original 19th Century brewery.

Day 5 – Blessed are the curious for they shall have adventure

How often do you have breakfast in one country and lunch in another? Today you are catching the Thalys High Speed train that will connect you right into the heart of Paris in just over three hours. In Paris, you’ll check into the hotel then the afternoon is yours to spend at your leisure.

Day 6 – There are 360 degrees, why stick to one?

Your Tour de Paris  begins atop one of the best known and most imitated monuments in the world – The Eiffel Tower. With Paris under your feet, you will certainly enjoy spectacular views right from Gustave Eiffel’s office. Spend the afternoon relaxed aboard a soothing cruise as you sail down the Seine River. After dinner, be prepared to be entertained by a world-class performance at the Moulin Rouge.

Day 7 – Creativity takes Courage!

A trip to Paris is certainly not complete without a visit to The Louvre. Spend a good portion of the day in the halls of the most famous museum in the world! Let your mind interact with some of the world’s most recognised artists as you trace the thread of art history back in time. Spend the rest of the afternoon shopping to your heart’s delight.

Day 8 – It’s an ‘add-to-cart’ kinda day!

Today you have an optional guided walking tour of Paris to discover things one can only understand from the insights of a local Parisian. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore as you wish or treat yourself to an entire day of retail therapy!

Day 9 – East, West, Home is Best

After breakfast, you will pack your bags, say your last goodbyes and catch your flight out of this beautiful city of love. It’s home-sweet-home.
