Garden Route – South Africa

NOV 18TH – 24TH, 2018

South Africa Garden Route Tour, South Africa Flag

Safari Sensei is going on the trip of a lifetime to South Africa and we’d personally like to invite you to join us.

We’ll drive along the Garden Route exploring the diverse scenic wonders the country has to offer. We’ll kayak down the Storms River gorge, swim amongst the majestic Blue sharks, sip our way through the magnificent wine lands of Stellenbosch and soak up the captivating African sunset right from the top of the Table Mountain with unbeatable 360-degree views of Cape Town.

We’ll experience the best of South Africa compressed into one week of highlights.

Canal walk, Ratanga Junction, V&A Waterfront, Bo Kaap

Day 1

We’ll land in George, load our luggage into the bus then drive up to the luxurious Oubaai Hotel Golf and Spa where we’ll spend our first night. After dinner, the rest of the evening is yours to explore, relax and get acquainted with the other travelers over a sweet dose of good conversation.

Day 2

After an early breakfast at the hotel, our exciting adventure officially begins with a drive to Plettenberg Bay. We’ll check into our home for the next two nights then proceed on to the day’s activities. This afternoon we’re going for a swim you’ll never forget. We’re going on an adrenaline-fuelled experience to dive with some sharks. Not to worry, you don’t need any previous diving experience for this. After a safety briefing, we’ll go on a boat ride and spend three to four hours on our shark diving trip. We’ve got you covered if shark diving is not your cup of tea. The alternative activity is just as fun – you’ll be swimming with seals!

Day 3

Immediately after breakfast, we’re going paragliding – the purest form of human flight. After gracefully exploring the spectacular landscape from above, we’ll drive to Tsitsikamma for an afternoon of vitamin sea as we kayak on the Storms River and explore the long, bottomless pool, deep caves and ancient forests – with nothing but the quiet noises of nature around us. After it all we’ll head out for dinner and then call it a day.

Day 4

Today we’ll hit the road to Stellenbosch, South Africa’s premier wine producing region. We’ll start with an early sumptuous breakfast before beginning our comfortable six hour road trip to the beautiful town characterized by old, colonial, Cape Dutch architecture. We’ll visit a vineyard in the picturesque Stellenbosch region where we’ll get the chance to sophisticate our palates with world-class wines and cheese pairings. Then we’re back on the road to our final destination – Cape Town!

Day 5

The past couple of days have been seriously intense so we’ll try to take it easy today. After a leisurely morning breakfast, we’ll visit Robben Island Museum. We’ll step into Nelson Mandela’s cell and get visually acquainted with how he spent 18 years of his life imprisoned in a 7-by-9-foot room. After the humbling experience, we’ll drive down to the beach for some sunshine therapy. We’ll dip our toes in the ice-cold ocean as we get to know the African penguins at Boulders Beach. In the evening we have a date all the way from the top of Table Mountain where we’ll get magnificent views of Cape Town, set in the romantic hues of the African sunset. We’ll end the day with happy hour cocktails and some dancing – of course!

Day 6

After breakfast, we’ll kick off the day at Canal Walk for some retail therapy. Treat yourself to something good or buy your family and friends some souvenirs. In the evening we’ll hop over to the V&A Waterfront to indulge our senses in this popular tourist destination that’s rich in cultural and historical heritage. We’ll gather for our farewell dinner and follow up with some groove as we dance our last night away.

Day 7

If you’re up for it, we’ll catch one last memorable moment by hiking up to Lion’s Head to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. We’ll have our last breakfast together as we reminisce the beautiful memories and friendships we’ve made this incredible week. After breakfast, we’ll pack our bags then depart for the airport.
